Hello, my name is Tin and I’m from Varaždin, Croatia. I’m 17 and my professor had encouraged me to participate in ISCFC.
My results: Total- 9697 kg CO2 per year
Transport- 1679 kg
Home- 4323 kg
Food- 3384 kg
Purcheases- 311kg
I’m glad I calculated that footprint, because I’ve realised that it is a lot higher compared to
an average of 5736 kg for Croatia, and it is time to take some changes in order to prevent growth of my carbon footprint and to cut it down as much as possible.

Good evening :)
I think it’s shame of humanity that in 21st century every 5 seconds one human being dies from hunger. In world are so much people which are wasting and trowing food when at the same time, for example, children in Africa don’t have water and any food. In my opinion reason for world hunger is that some parts of the world are undeveloped. We certainly need to change something. People can send money for their food, for building homes to stop diseases.
However, some people don’t care for that and that is something which we need to change, people need to know in what conditions people are living.
World hunger is the problem which we need to solve.
Here is link for organisation Mary’s Meals where you can donate money online and 10$ would be enough for one child education in whole year.

Hi,I am Iva and I am from Croatia.Mobile phones can be bad and good.Mobile phones make our life better by keeping us constantly connected. We can use them to text, watch videos, take photos, play games, listen to tunes, and get coupon codes, weather updates and even directions.Cell phone use is not just a teen or young adult thing. It’s an everybody thing!77% of teens own cell phones; 35% of adults own a smart phone. 38% of cell phone owners use it during commercials. 13% of cell phone owners say they have used their phones to avoid interacting with people.We need to use cell phones but in normal amounts.

Hello, my name is Raphael, I am form Philadelphia, PA. Its Located in America near New York. I am 14 years old. My total Carbon foot was 17548 kg CO2 per year. My home was 35540 kg CO2 and my food was 7737 kg CO2. My purchases was 920 kg CO2. I think that if I was to cut this down I could turn off my lights every time I exit a room. If I to cut down on food I could eat less meat. My purchases are not that much it is only 920 kg CO2. However if I wanted to cut it down I would go to Target and stores like that a lot often.

HELLO! My name is Federico and I live in the north of Italy. I think that a great way to get closer to a sustainable city is the production of clean energy; for example everyone should install solar panels. In my home we use this type of energy productions and I must say that in addition to helping the environment we save a lot of money.
I hope that one day this will come true for all people.

Deforestation is a big problem that concerns the whole world. It causes:
- Landslides and floods
- Changes in the climate of the region
- Extinction of plant and animal species
- Greenhouse
I think that for every tree that you cut you have to plant more trees to avoid the total deforestation and that the most developed States should govern more the cut of trees.

Hello everyone, my names is Federico. I live in Cerveno, a small village in the north of Italy. I think that this problem concerns mainly the young. For example in my school more and more young people want to buy a new phone or a new computer only for fashion or to have the latest model. I think that this isn’t a need; for example I don’t change a phone until it still works and I think everyone should learn to do it.

I agree the younger people give off more carbon. Were always looking for the new and improved product. The older people tend to keep there technology for a long time.

It is very wasteful always getting the newest technology but companies spend millions of dollars on advertising to make people think that they need the best and newest product even when what they have is just fine.

I agree with u. I just got a new phone, the newest version of the phone, it had only been out for a month and three weeks later they came out with a “better” one.People put way too much into it.

Technology is a want. You don’t need the latest technology to get by but it it is nice to have it.
But now days it seems to be a requirement to have some kind of internet using equipment to get through school or work. This is what society has come to.

I think the having the latest technology is a need for people who actually have to use them for business and work. However, it is a want for people who does not necessarily need them. For example, many people in my school have iphone 5 or some other newest technology, but I highly doubt that a 16 year old teenager needs such a high technology to help himself to study or work? The phone I have right now is my second one, I had my first phone since gr. 6, and got a new phone in gr. 9. I only buy a new mp3 if it is broken. Personally, I do not need a new model. I think most of the electronic devices affect the environment in the society, people should be careful and only buy necessary needs.

I agree. If it is necessary for your job or school then I think it is fine to have the newest technology, but if you are only using it for entertainment purposes then it probably isn't necessary.

It sounds like you do need more trash cans around your city. But those people who have been okay with just tossing their trash on the ground now probably won’t be interested in findng a trash can. The people who care now are probably holding onto their trash until they find a bin and the people who don’t care aren’t very likely to do anything differently regardless of how many trash bins you put around your city. I’m not saying you shouldn’t push for more trash cans to be put up around the city, I just think that when people get used to littering they clearly don’t care about the environment and therefore will probably not do anything to change what they are used to doing.
