Hi Im Kiana from JMMA in Florida. Wanna know all the footprints I leave behind? They come from my farts. They emit more pollution to our atmosphere then all the vehicles in the world combined. Pretty powerful stuff I got here.

Mia R-Slovenia, May 6, 2012

Hi , I’m Mia Ravbar, I live in Slovenia and attend a high school in Sežana. After completing this survey I found out that my Carbon Footprint is way above the average Carbon Footprint of my region. My carbon footprint was 9732kg in total. At first I thought i would be under the average in my region but the results are showing the opposite. I’m 2730kg above average. I use public transport, either bus or train to go to school and other places. Sometimes my parents drive me,especially is there is no possibility to travel by other means of transport. For transport alone I use 3201kg in average per year. The results about consuption Carbon Footprint at my home are worrying, I consume about 5074 kg per year, almost 3500kg above the average! I was really surprised by my average. Maybe it is due to the size of our house but I still try to do my best. If I compare my average to the regional one in the food area my average is 1040kg , aproximately 1500kg below the average. I believe this is because I am a vegetarian. In the category of purchases I am again below the regional average, 416kg as compared to 626kg. Again I was surprised by this results as my parents always tell me that I spend too much. As regards to situation in my household we try to be as nature friendly as possible, we recycle, we do not travel by plane very often ( two times per year only) and we just installed a new eco-friendly heating sistem. Anyhow , this survey helped me to realis the importance of low carbon footprint for global warming, I will certainly try to improve my figures and will encourage everybody else to do the same.

It is really good that you don't use your own car, because this causes your carbon footprint to increase. I think in your home you should use less electricity, because that is whats increasing your carbon footprint. Also when your a vegetarian it decreases your carbon footprint which is good. I think this was a great paragraph that you wrote it has details and everything.

hey my name is Youssef soliman. i am from egypt. I’m 14 years old. my highest category in the carbon foot print was the house supplies. it was the highest because i open a lot of lights when I’m am in the house. we use a lot of electronics such as microwaves, tv, playstation, and a lot of other things. there are some ways to reduce that process. we can stop using lights as much. we should stop using electronics and start doing more outdoor things.

Hassan Badr, May 6, 2012

My name is Hassan Badr and I’m from Cairo,Egypt. My Co2 unfortunately is above average. It’s because I use a lot of wasting stuff such as air conditioner or leave the lights on. My thoughts are that I should use less energy and make time or room for more recycling things. I learned that many use a lot of CO2 and our Earth is in danger. There are many actions I can take to reduce CO2, like I can car pool or even buy a bike to go to school with. Thank you for reading my post.

Hi, my name is Youssef Maksoud. I’m from Cairo, Egypt. I go to the American international school in Egypt. My carbon footprint is way above average compared to the people in Egypt. When I saw my results I got surprised because I didn’t know that I use a lot of CO2. My CO2 is probably high because I eat a lot of McDonalds and Pizza and lots of other junk food and etc. For Example, I keep my lights in the room on and I buy new clothes, which I don’t use. I use a lot of car gas, I use a lot of electronics. But I do live very far from school, but in the other hand I try to help the environment by taking the school bus instead of my car. But that is not enough according to my bad results at all. For example, I should turn off my lights every second I leave the room, use public transportation or go with friends. I shouldn’t use that amount of electricity. I will try to help my carbon footprint to be below average the next year. On the other hand, suggestions for society that would help me would be recycle bottle tops, creating recycle bins, and more electricity hour savings! I have learned that if I, a 15 year old produce all this CO2, then 84 million other Egyptians cause lots of pollution in total and that’s why there should be more carbon footprint and recycling programs to help our country transform into one of the lowest carbon footprint results in the whole world. I wish I could change my results to about 4,000kg. I will spread the news to my family and friends and try to simply change our country.

Azad Alexanian, May 5, 2012

Hey, My name is Azad Alexanian. I am in the American International School in Egypt. We were asked to measure our carbon footprints, and when I measured mine I found out that it was higher than the normal average. I think that is bec. I don’t shut the lights when i leave my room and also because I don’t turn my laptop off when I’m not using it. What I am willing to do to decrease my carbon footprint is to shut the lights when i go out of my room and also to turn off my laptop when I’m not using it.

DANIEL SEDANO, May 5, 2012

Hi my name is Daniel Sedeano i lived in Cairo. i go to the America International Schoolof egypt. A few days ago I did my carbon foot print, it was 9486 that is a little above the average. after looking at my result i realized that my highest CO2 was trasportation because i lived far from my school and because i also use my driver to take to a lot of places. The other one that was above the average is home energy because I watch a lot of tv and also use alot my computer.Im sure i can try to reduce my CO2 by reducing the amout of enegy in my house and i alos try to walk when i dont need my car.

Youssef El Shanawany, May 5, 2012

Hi everyone, my name is Youssef El Shanawany and i am currently living in Egypt. After taking the carbon footprint survey i realized that my CF was above average. The major factor that mostly affected my CF was food because i eat around seven meals per day and alot of other snacks. Also another two factors that affected my CF as highly as Food was home because of the use of electirity irresponsibly by me and transportation because i take several cabs a day as well as 4 flights a year. This survey was very usefull to me because it made me aware of the amont of carbon dioxide i produce which made me think about changing and improving my lifstyle. I can improve my carbon footprint by not eating unecessary snaks and using public transportations such as buses or trains or ridind bicycles instead of taking alot of cabs. My CF can also be improved by reducing the amount of flights i take per year and start using electricity more responsibly in my house and by closing the tap of water while i’m showering or brushing my teeth. At the end if really did all of these things, i think my CF will eventualy be below average.

Hello, I'm Seif Korsten, I live in Cairo, Egypt and I go to the American International School here in Cairo. We had to complete a survey in class to calculate our carbon footprint. After knowing Egypt's national average, I wasn't too surprised of how low it was, I wasn't too surprised either when I got my own results. Transportation is very important for me, and I had a couple of flights last year, so that increased my carbon footprint immensly. I also drive daily up and down to school and home (at least, my driver does). I also like to go out every Thursday now and then, then also adds up the the CF I had in total. It's unfortunate, but I plan on improving myself this year! I'm not planning to take any flights this year anymore, this should help me improve my personal CF prodigiously. I am personally afraid that I will never be able to make it under the national average's CF, I would have to “tweak” my life to be able to achieve that.

Hi, my name is Omar Ashraf, I’m from Cairo Egypt and i go to the American International School Of Egypt. After completing my carbon footprint calculator and my written reflection, i found out that my carbon footprint is right about the average. Personnaly, i think that the amount of carbon footprint i produce alone in this country is in both ways alot and normal because in some categories my footprint is high and in other categories they are about average, but never below. But i learned that most of my carbon dioxide production comes from my transportation and my purchases. The actions that i should talk and that we should all take as a unified world is to reduce our ways of transportation, like for example only use cars for long distances and we should also conserve alot of electricity. I am glad to have done these surveys and posts because i truly learned how much of an affect i am in this world and i also learned how i can change to make this world a better place.
