In my future home i will take obvious measures like using less heat, changing out light bulbs, and reducing water waste.
One of the more important and easy solutions would be to compost more. In my family I know that at the end of each week the amount of food thrown away totals great amounts. It would be an easy change to collect remains of meat, vegetables and dispose of them properly in a compost area.
