Hello! I’m the new here but I’ve already enjoyed this project. When I was calculating my CO2 I expected that it would be higher than average. And then I glad that it was not. However, the highest result was on my home energy. So I promise I’ll turn off all lights when I don’t need it and turn off TV and computer, when I’m not at home. ;)) Have a nice day!

Hi, everyone! I’m very happy to join to this project again! Like I said, I’m not new here. I and my classmates participated here last year. When I compared my CO2 emissions, I saw that my carbon footprint had decreased (comparing with last year). It was a pleasant suprise for me! Now, I know that this project really helps to improve. I would like to congratulate new people who joined to this project and to wish them good luck! :)

My total footprint is 5371 kg. It's a little bit bigger than average CO2 emissions for Lithuania. -

Hello everyone. I‘m Agne and I‘m from Lithuania. I‘m not a new person here because I and some other students participated in this project last year. I‘m happy that our school decided to try it again. I have already calculated my carbon footprint and I was surprised that the results were so different from last year. Fortunately, in some categories the amount of CO2 emissions has decreased, but the home category has contributed to my CO2 emissions about three times more than before! Our family really needs to reduce this amount.
Have a good day. :)

Hello. My name is Simona and I’m from Lithuania. Our school is participating in this project and I’m really happy to try it this year. Yesterday I calculated my footprint and guess what. It was a lot higher than the average. This fact was a true surprise for me, because my family is trying to live environmentally friendly life. Using wood for home heating is not a great way after all. Well, now i can’t do nothing about it, but I think when I’ll be living on my own, I will try to use solar or other energy. I don’t really want to do any harm to my planet.

Hello everyone! My name is Ingrida and I’m from Lithuania. Our school is participating in this great project. When calculated my footprint I was shocked. I hadn’t expected this to be that high! The highest result was on home energy and appliances part. Now I’m determened to change my habbits.

Well, I never leave my computer turned on when I don't use it. The highest result on home appliance part was when I clicked that I use non-energy saving light bulbs. Yesterday I suggested my mother to buy energy saving light bulbs and she agreed. -

I had the same exact experience! I was also shocked to see that my carbon footprint had very high results, and hope too that I can make a change! -

I'm sure you will! Sometimes we need very little to make a difference. We need to know what exactly we are doing wrong. I'm sure after counting your carbon footprint you know it.

Hi everyone,
I am a student from Lithuania. Our school participate in this project the third time and I joined this project for the first time. I have just calculated my footprint so I am very happy that it is lower than the average.

sometimes just little things like turning off the lights when you walk out of the room can lower your footprint.

Hi to all,
I am a teacher in a Greek high school and with my class are very pleased to participate in this program. We have started using the calculator two days ago and the first impression is that out footprint is lower than the average. The next thing to do is find out which behavior we have to change or to improve in order to decrease the amount of CO2 we generate.

Hi Basilis, my pupils and I enjoy participating in the ISCFC too and are ready to make some personal changes in our daily lives as well. -

Hi, Basili, We've just started the transportation portion, and I think some of the kids are going to be stunned at what they find. I'm predicting that affluence will impact the outcome, though, since I'm already noticing that the kids who aren't well off (and there are many here) don't really leave this little rural town much. If you did this same project in the suburbs where I live, I think transportation emissions would skyrocket. I personally am going to go out of my way to carpool more.

Hello to all - we are so excited to participate in the challenge for the first time. My students started yesterday. Although here in NY city our footprints are generally lower then the rest of the country, we have MUCH that can be improved! It is great that the students can go back and change their answers and really see which changes in their behaviors could decrease their footprints the most. I feel certain they will want to challenge themselves again in a few months to see how much better they are doing!

Sounds like your students are really making use of the CF Calculator. If they look at the links on the top left side of the page, they will be able to determine how much CO2 is generated from the one behavior choice. Another button shows how the figure was calculated. -

Hello Patricia,
I have started completing the calculator questionnaire with my pupils today and have collected most of the data but haven't emailed our total footprint yet. We'll have to change our lifestyle too (especially in the second category: home energy and appliances).
