Hi, My name is Danni and I’m Pennsylvania. My carbon footprint was 17832 kg CO₂ per year. I thought it would be way higher then what it turned out to be. For transportation the results were 5842 kg, at home it is 9818 kg, for food its 1537 kg, and for purchases its 634 kg. i don’t really know what to expect for these categories. I wonder if its normal or not? I think that going this activity with my school is so cool and I really like how it has to do the whole world. Thats so cool!!!!

My carbon footprint was 11054 kg of CO₂ per year, compared to an average of 20301 kg for Pennsylvania. I thought that my carbon footprint would be about the same as the average person in PA. I was about half the average person in PA. One improvement I could make is I could use reusable bags when shopping. I could also unplug electronics when I am not using them.

” I am fine with what I have as long as it works.” Few people think about this. I’ve learned that technology is always advancing itself and every month something new is coming out. So those who have the newest stuff before it even hits the shelf only have the spotlight for a while before something else comes.
In this time, people WANT the last generation mobile or iPod or PC, but every phone are all equal, it’s just a matter of being the latest fashion and make themselves better.
I believe that a person is not better just because it has the latest generation of mobile.
We use our until it works so as to pollute much less.

I also agree, I have an older android phone, that I plan to keep a hold of for a while, and I have never purchased an iPhone. In one of my classes, I learned that Apple has the technology to create the iPhones they keep upgrading too, but they sell obsolete technology in order to put better tech out later for more money. Why even add to something like that? -

Hi, my name is Diego, I’m 17 years old.
I live in a small village in the north of Italy, called Ono San Pietro.
In my village there’s not a big pollution.
my total carbon footprint is 9519 kg of Co2 per year.
the average in my region is 8181 kg.
I live 20 km from school and use bus to go to school.
We should work on how to reduce our consumptions in each area for example use the alternative energy and recycle.
I found this project interesting and usefull.

Nice, you are very close to your average carbon footprint, just a tiny adjustment and you will be ok. Keep up the good work.

Hello my name is Andrea, I’m 17 I live in Italy. I think technology has been especially created to help the man in every day life, such as cell phones that allow you to stay in touch with anyone, anywhere. It is true that the excessive use of technology, such as video games is something completely useless and you could easily do without it; alternative would be to be with friends to spend some time outdoors rather than being alone in front of a screen.

You make a really good point. I agree that technology is useful and beneficial to man right now. But some people do go overboard by playing video games 24/7 when they could be doing something else.

Hi,
My name is Davide, i’m 18 years old, i’m a student at IIS Meneghini Secondary school in Edolo, a small town in the north of Italy. My total carbon footprint is 11416 kg of CO2 per year, in Italy the average footprint is 8181 kg. In my house there aren’t solar panels. I always go to school by car and i like playing on my computer and watching some video. We use fluorescent bulbs in whole my house so it is not bad.

Hello everybody!
My name is Pietro and I’m 17 years old.
I’m a student at IIS Meneghini Secondary School in Edolo, a small village in the north of Italy.
My total footprint is 10170 kg of CO2 per year. My result is more than the average of Italy (8181
kg CO2).
My highest category is “Home” probably because my family and I spend a lot of time at home. My house is quite big and we heat 6 months per year.
I’d like to reduce my carbon footprint but solar panels are very expensive, we don’t have nuclear plants in Italy, so the cheapest way of heating is wood.

Good morning, I’m Ivan Pogna, I’m 18 and I live in a village in the north of Italy, it name is Sellero. My village is small infact there isn’t a pollution. My carbon footprint is 6915 kg of Co2 per year, I went to school by public transport and I eat a natural food. This project is very interesting and utility. I think the calculator is a very helpful tool for us to gain a general idea of our carbon footprints. We should work on how to reduce our consumptions in each area. For instance, if we spend too much each year buying new and unnecessary items, we should try to reduce our consumption. Every effort to live more sustainably will add up and make a big difference in the long run.

This is so true we do need to work on new ways to improve our methods of reducing Co2. -

I agree with you. If we can reduce and work thinks out and create new ideas to improve on how to reduce our carbon footprint.

Hi!
My name is Denis; I live in a small village in the north of Italy.
This village is beautiful because it is very quiet and it is in the mountain.
My carbon food print is high in HOME and TRASPORTATION categories, because my village is far from other towns, disco and my school, so i need my car or bus to go anyway. In winter the temperature is very low, we heat our house eight months per year and we usually use a lot of wood because it is cheaper. Unfortunately the other forms of energy are relatively expensive.
My carbon footprint is the following:
TRASPORTATION: 3570 kg
HOME: 6109kg
FOOD: 3733kg
PUNCHASE: 383kg
TOTAL: 13796kg

Hi, my name isVeronica. I live in a small village in the north of Italy. I’m 17 years old. My total footprint is 9037 kg of CO₂ per year.
Home category is highest than Italy because where I live it’s very cold and and I have to use a lot of heating and wood to heat my home beacuse my house is warm enough.
