Hey everyone, I’m Jake and I live in Texas. I think it’s a great idea to switch from plastic bags to reusable bags because it offers many benefits. I read on Green Living Tips that they’re primarily strong & durable, chemical resistant, cheap to produce, and can be made from recycled materials.

I think that that is a good idea in theory, but it makes it really annoying when you are shopping. Do you use reusable bags??

Let's not forget that San Francisco's litter just got worse when they implemented the plastic bag ban. Also cashiers hate bagging reusable bags and paper

Hello everybody! I’m Barbara from Požega, little town in Croatia. My total carbon footprint is 5661 kg of CO₂ per year which I find concerning. Average carbon footprint in my country is 5736 kg of CO₂ per year which is just a little above my carbon footprint. Since my carbon footprint startled me, first thing I decided to do to decrease it is to use the three r’s - reduce, reuse and recycle. I started to dispart plastic, glass, paper and organic waste and put them in different containers for recycling. I also talked to my mom, dad and brother about recycling and they decided to join me in decreasing our family’s footprint. We also decided to eat more organic food and to use paper or cotton bags when we go shopping so we can reuse or recycle it. One more thing we decided to do as a family is to reduce number of incandescent bulbs in our home and substitute them with energy saving bulbs. I hope I will suceed in decreasing my carbon footprint. :)

P.S. Check out this link, I hope it can help you in reusing, reducing and recycling! :) http://www.dnr.mo.gov/env/swmp/pubs-reports/threers.htm

I try to reuse different things as much as possible and I also recycle. I don't watch TV often. I also turn off lights whenever it's possible.

Hello! Many people are too lazy to put glass, paper and plastic bags or simply to find different containers for recycling. They think it isn’t their job caring for our environment, but this attitude must be changed, if we want to have our earth clean.

So true. I am often too lazy to take the time to do that, but if everyone did it would make the world a better place.

Today the philosophy of recycling is not very widespread, especially for developed countries and technology because it costs more to fix than buy a new one. Only by using this theory increase packaging waste and, above all, a very difficult problem to solve. The philosophy of recycling is to teach children why it is important for us but also for the ‘environment. I personally try to reuse as much as possible, for example, always reuse the same bag for shopping, drinking water in glass bottles to save the plastic.

I usually will throw things away or recycle them instead of reusing them. I think that the better thing to do would be to reuse them, but most people want new things too much to do that.

I think that recycling should become fashionable as ecology, because when something is trendy, people are the fashion

Here in America we here the phrase reuse, reduce, and recycle a lot. However, a lot people think that means to recycle by putting your trash in a recycling trash can. They often ignore the part that says reuse. I think everyone should focus more on reusing things. Everyone can do that by when you get something, like a water bottle or a plastic bag, using it a second time. We should all try to use things more than once.

People can use grocery bags as trash bags for trash cans in your house. We don’t buy bags just meant to be for trash cans. It’s a waste.
Also, my family doesn’t use air conditioning in our house. We use electric fans. i think that’s more green.

I think my family should start using fans instead of the AC because we use it all the time.

I think that if air conditioning makes for a comfortable living condition, people should just enjoy it!

I think a better way to reuse and repurpose is to take all your water bottles and save them for a extra bottle you can reuse and you dont need to buy, also you can take your papers and use the back front and scraps for use, finally take all your plastics, cardboard, and foil and put it in a non unhealthy enviorment and keep it just in case you need to reuse it so you dont waist money or harm the enviorment

in all seriousness learn to recycle. PAPER DOES NOT GO IN THE TRASH CAN, KEEP YOUR TRASH OUT OF THE RECYCLING BIN AND LEARN 2 COMPOST. If you like living, contribute. It’s do or die, whether in our generation or our granchildrens. #realtalk
