Huda Abifares is the founder of the Khatt Foundation Center for Arabic Typography. The foundation’s “Typographic Matchmaking in the City” project brings together 5 teams of Dutch and Arab designers to collaborate on creating matching Arabic and Latin fonts for architecture and public space. This is a fascinating study of the coexistence of Arab and Western cultures. Since the Arabic language is a huge part of Africa, this is very relevant to Digital Africa.
