Food: 3432 kg / 2308 kg
Purchases: 64 kg / 597 kg
Total: 6973 kg of CO₂ per year, compared to an average of 5736 kg for Croatia, and 3791 kg (= 8358 lb) worldwide.

The biggest problem for me is my home. We have a big house and a horrible heating system, so during the winter we use a lot of energy for heating.
Also, food? I guess I eat too much.

I’ll make sure my parents solve the heating problem, and I’ll start eating less! (Jokey jokey. Let’s be real: I won’t.)

My name is Hannan Hassan, but i am using my friend’s account because there is something wrong with mine. I live in Egypt, Cairo, I am from there. . My total foot print was 30314. For my region i had a high average compared to the normal human in Egypt. I think my carbon footprint was high because transportation and purchases. My transportation was 18860 kg because i go a lot of places; i always go out to many places on weekend, i go to private lessons in places thats far away from my school everyday, i go shopping a lot, and i do a lot of things. Also in my purchases I had 220 kg, because i don’t use the bag more than once when i go shopping and some stuff else, i have to recycle more stuff and use them more than once.

Hello, my name is Dora and I’m from Croatia. My CO2 footprint is a little bit higher than the average footprint in Croatia. My biggest problem is that I don’t turn the lights off when I leave the room. I know that’s a very bad habit but, as you know, it is difficult to change something you do every day. I hope that I will learn to do such easy things - I just need to turn the switch off, that’s all. And the consequence of it? The size of my footprint will change so much that I think I’ll have to buy new shoes! :)

I am seventeen years old and it’s the right age to start thinking more about enviromental problems and to try to do something to protect our planet. I have joined this project hoping to learn something useful and interesting and it has turned out that I really enjoy reading your posts! I am really surprised with the number of your messages and your dedication to improve your lifestyle and become more environmentaly-friendly!

My footprint is almost the same as the footprint of the average person in my region. Thanks to the carbon calculator and your posts I have found out that small changes in our everyday life can make quite a big difference. I am pleased with that and I’ll join you in your effort to become more responsible. I’ll try to take more care about recycling and composting. I’ll try to spare water and electricity, too. I also agree that it’s a good idea to eat more organic and locally grown food and less meat in order to become healthier and to lower the carbon footprint. I can even try to teach some of my friends about the importance of safegurding the environment. I am really glad I am here and look forward to your comments. :)

Hi, my name is Ahmed Badrawy and i go to the AISE or American International School in Egypt. I recently used the carbon footprint site to see how much lower or higher my carboon footprint is. I found out that it was too above average and was mostly like this because of transportation. Mostly it was because of traveling via planes and cars. I’d like to use transportation in a more sufficient way so i can decrease the harm that i’m doing to the country and to the world.

Hi, my name is Seif Shokeir and I go to the American International School in Egypt. I did my carbon foot print through this website http://footprint.stanford.edu/footprint2.html. My carbon footprint was 9575 it was above average than the average of the Egyptians. I think this is because of the transportation I use a lot of it. I got 5755 in transportation only, this I because I live away from school and I go to school five times a week. I don’t think I could change that but what I could change is the food and home energy.
I think I could reduce the amount of energy I use by using less water and electricity in the house. This could happen if I turn on the air conditioner less because I turn it on every day when I’m awake or sleeping. Also I could use my laptop less and just work with some paper and pencil rather than doing my work on the laptop and printing it. also I could reduce the amount of food by eating less fast food because I eat a lot of it. I hope everyone on earth is trying to reduce the carbon he uses!

Hey, my name Ahmed Sorour , I am from Cairo, Egypt and I attend the American International School in Egypt (AISE).
A few days ago I was introduced to a Co^2 calculator. I was really interested in finding my Co^2 average. After looking at my country’s average (which was around 4000-5000) then looking at my own average, I was absolutely shocked. My co^2 average was WAY more than my country’s average, my average was 20,000k +. After looking at the results, I noticed that most of the co^2 came from Transportation and Home. It is true that I travel a lot daily and consume too much energy at home.
It is also true that sometimes i get forgetful and forget to turn off the lights when I leave my room, including forgetting to turn off my fan, and AC.
I will attempt to prevent myself from being both forgetful and an over-user of energy at my home.
