Discussions Discussion Deforestation SOS
Zoran M, yesterday

I’m Zoran, I live in a small village in the north of Italy, the deforestation in the world is a big problem, i think to solve this problem we must follow the example of Ingvar Kamprad, founder of Ikea that for every tree cut he makes plant two

Hi Josh, i'm Zoran and i'm from Italy, also if you travel a lot you can reduce your carbon footprint you can go on foot for short trips and using public transportation when you can.

Discussions Discussion Wants or needs?
Davide A, yesterday

Today all people buy a new pc, smartphone or tablet but I think this things aren’t a need… some people buy them only to show them to other people. I think the best utility of technology might be to search a new system to make the earth less polluted. I’m studying to be a surveyor and I study sustainable energy to apply to ecobuilding, it’s incredible how much money you can save if you install them in their house.

Kia Palmer, May 21, 2013

Hi, my name is Kia’ Palmer, I am 15 years old I live in Mooresville NC. My carbon footprint total was 10,438. The total is about moderate like in between. The reason was because it’s only three people that stay at my house and my mom likes to try and save energy. Majority of my carbon footprint came from the home energy etc. My reaction to that being the most I was shocked because my mom tries to cut back on the amount of energy and electronics that we use on a daily basis. I expected these results because I know that if i cut back on a lot of different things like I would have a lower outcome. What I learned is that I really need to cut back on using the water and electronics. Some future actions that I have is when I get bored I can find other ways to entertain myself instead of using electronics all the time.

Is it true that all of the bad fules and gasses we let out into the atmosphere are so much that we wont be able to fix it? Just slow it down a bit? if were lucky?

If you walk to school instead of driving a car, how much does that take away from your footprint?? The High-School is about half a mile away.

Why is it that people don’t care about there footprint?? It makes no sense. People don’t understand how big of an impact it is that how much c02 is released to the atmosphere. . .

I think that is because people are enjoying the luxury of the finer things in life and not willing to face the consequences that the hold. So people try to ignore the effects and/ or choose not to give those things up.

I think that people don't really know how they impact the carbon footprint

I believe this topic can really swing both ways equally. It becomes important to possess a cellphone because it keeps you in contact with people you need to get a hold of and helps give information easy and efficiently. On the other hand, most phones these days have way more features then we really need but some of those features make communication so much easier.

Hey everyone, I’m Jake and I’m from Texas. I’m 17 years old and my total co2 footprint is 15,919. I’m below my reigons average but I still feel like that’s a lot and i’m going to be making changes in order to lower these numbers and help make a better footprint.

I also think what you could do is cut back on the usage of things that you have. Another thing that I think could help you is increasing about the different time that you use the bathroom such as for showers & etc.

I aslo think that i could do use less usage such as showers and heater and ac's etc.
